HISTORIC AREA
The area adjacent to
Harbor View Estates is part of the Old Setauket Historic District.
With its historic homes, hilly terrain and majestic trees, it
reminds many of a charming New England village. The area has
a village green, churches, a school and a community meeting
house. It has a small town setting; yet it is convenient
to all that is needed for everyday living in the twenty - first
century.
The Community Tour covers
various sites adjacent to Harbor View Estates. It includes Setauket
Elementary School, Setauket Village Green, Emma S. Clark Library, Setauket
Presbyterian Church and Setauket Neighborhood House.

The Setauket Elementary
School is conveniently located on Main Street immediately adjacent
to the Harbor View Estates community. The School includes Grades
K - 6. The School building was recently renovated and is well
- known for its architectural excellence.

Throughout the years
the Setauket Village Green has been a center of community
activity for the Setauket area. This focus continues today as
the Village Green is used for various events, including festivals,
fairs and holiday parades.

The Emma S. Clark
Library is one of the treasures of the Three Village area.
It is a major cultural center for the community. As a local
library it contains one of the largest collections of books in
Suffolk County. As an educational center it has an outstanding
offering of programs and activities.

The Setauket Presbyterian
Church played a central role in the Battle of Setauket during
the American Revolution. Today the Church continues to serve its
congregation and the Three Village area. The Presbyterian Church,
the adjacent Caroline Church and the melodic chiming of their
bells are frequent reminders of the unparalled charm of this
wonderous area.

The Setauket Neighborhood
House has historically been a gathering place for people in the
Setauket area. Today the Neighborhood House is available for use
by all members of the community as it continues its tradition
of hosting various meetings, events and family celebrations.
