PARK - LIKE SETTING
The gardens and wooded
area of the property create a park - like setting for the entire
backyard. They combine to provide an endless variety of outstanding
views throughout the year.
The Landscape Tour
covers the gardens and wooded area in the backyard; including
the wood planter garden area, the northerly garden area, the southerly
garden and pond area and the rock waterfall.
The wood planter
garden area is located in the southeast corner of the pool
area. It is adjacent to a seating area of the brick patio.
The garden includes azaleas, rhododendrums, a birch tree, a magnolia
tree and flowers. A stepping stone walkway traverses the garden.
The northerly garden
area is located in the northwest corner of the pool area.
It is adjacent to the large activity area of the brick patio.
The garden includes azaleas, rhododendrums, hyacinth, an oak tree, a
dogwood tree and flowers. The garden has rock borders and a
lamp post for nighttime lighting.
The southerly garden
and pond area is located in the southwest corner of the
pool area. It is adjacent to an activity area of the brick
patio and a wood bench. The garden includes azaleas, hosta, a
yuca plant, a japanese maple tree, a crabapple tree, a magnolia
tree and flowers. The garden has a rock border and lamp
post for nighttime lighting. The kidney - shaped pond is 3' X
8' and has a small waterfall.
The rock waterfall is
located on the fringe of the wooded area adjacent to the
concrete patio. It serves as a focal point as one enters
the backyard. Its major components include three large waterfall rocks,
an eight feet long rock pebble stream section and a 3'
X 8' kidney - shaped pond. A floodlight illuminates the waterfall
at night. The waterfall not only adds a visual enhancement
to the backyard landscape, but also provides the exhilarating sounds
of a mountain stream cascading over rocks.
